The amazing health benefits of turmeric and curcumin include the ability to reduce inflammation, heal wounds, improve skin health, protect cognitive abilities, and ease menstrual difficulties. Turmeric also helps eliminate depression, alleviate pain, slow down aging, protect the digestive tract, and prevent cancer.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa)  is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial flowering plant of the ginger family, Zingiberaceae. It is native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, and requires temperatures between 20 and 30 °C (68 and 86 °F) and a considerable amount of annual rainfall to thrive. Plants are gathered annually for their rhizomes and propagated from some of those rhizomes in the following season.

Fish farming is an act of rearing fish for commercial purpose. This involves building the earthen, tarpaulin or concrete pond, fertilizing the pond, stocking the fingerlings in good water and feeding the Mackerel, Tilapia or catfish till market size.

While there are thousands of fish species all around the globe, only very few of them are viable for commercial fish farming.

Aquaculture (farming of aquatic organisms) remains a fast growing sector, yielding nearly 60 million metric tons (MT) with the estimated value of $119.4 billion (in 2010) due to the high nutritional value of fish. Just like poultry chickens, fish grows very fast and can be sold within six-eight months.

Agribusiness a term coined by Goldberg and Davis in 1957 is the business of agricultural production which includes agri-chemicals, breeding, crop production (farming and contract farming), distribution, farm machinery, processing, and seed supply, as well as marketing and retail sales.
This business is one that earns and enjoys most of its revenues from Agriculture, It focuses on the processing, warehousing, distribution, marketing and retailing of products used in farming.

Every value-added chain process of Agriculture falls into this line of business.

Today, we had a tweet chat with the CEO of Dahrah Global Limited - a company which specializes in delivering world class ICT, Engineering and Agricultural solution. Through Dahrah Global; her agricultural brand FARMTIES bridges the gap between demand and supply in the agricultural value chain by trading agricultural commodities working closely with rural farming communities.

She explored the impact of agribusiness on the Nigerian economy and more importantly how individuals can engage in it.

(Heliciculture/Heliculture) Snail Farming as it is commonly known; is the process of raising land snails specifically for human use, either to use their flesh as edible escargot, or more recently, to obtain snail slime for use in cosmetics, or snail eggs for human consumption as a type of caviar - Wikipedia.

Imagine a plate filled with snail and garnished with different food accessories! Wow.... Very sumptuous! Why then do we shy away from snail production.

Snail farming is one of the most lucrative and profitable agribusiness one can start with low capital. Though it is a neglected animal rearing business in Nigeria due to the old culture of going to the bush to pick snails in the villages during raining time, snail farming provides one of the finest opportunity to make money within a short period of time.

Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals, and happiness.”

Thomas Jefferson definitely knew what he was saying about Agriculture when he uttered such words, and we at FBIN support his words.
